This beach-themed lighthouse is lathed by hand on a machine. Each one is different, a truly unique piece perfect for your lake house or cottage! This lighthouse is around 14” high, but expect some variation. I start with a piece of basswood, placing it between two spinning points, and use sharp tools to 'carve' it into the shape! Then I mark out the railing posts, drill holes and glue them into place. Lumps of charcoal create the perfect gray weathered look! Lastly, I glue on a piece of netting and add some shells and moss.
Wood types may vary, but basswood is usually used for this lighthouse as it is a light, dry wood that more easily mimics driftwood. Not made with real driftwood. Wood glue used to attach dowel pieces forming the railing. Charcoal used to create gray weathered look. Customization available upon request.
