Cherry Pits?
Share
Here in cherry country, we are very familiar with eating tart and sweet cherries fresh, in pies, or in various confections. Spring time is absolutely beautiful when driving along the blossoming orchards, looking like a fairy land of white cotton candy trees.
But this post is about cherry pits. The unglamorous, unassuming seed of the cherry. For most of us it's more a nuisance than anything, requiring many hours of tedious labor to remove them so we can enjoy the actual cherry.
But don't throw away the idea quite yet! When cleaned and thoroughly dried, they have a new purpose in heat or cold packs. The newest thing in the line up among rice, flax, and corn is cherry pit packs! Cherry pits provide humid warmth and a subtle cherry scent, and as a bonus you can wash and dry the pack without risk of mold as in the case of rice/corn.
Worth a try?
